My name is Grant Stringer. I am a professional wedding and portrait photographer based in Devon and covering weddings in Exeter, Barnstaple and throughout the South West and the UK.

I would like to give you an idea of how I work and what my photography can bring to your wedding.

Your wedding day is one of the most important events of your life and, as your wedding photographer, I will record those special moments so that you can enjoy them again for many years to come.

My approach is calm, professional, unobtrusive and light-hearted. As a bit of a romantic myself, I feel I have the sensitivity to capture the emotion and tenderness that is often expressed during a wedding. I like to let events unfold in a natural and fun way rather than being made to feel you're on a photo shoot.

That said, I will carefully plan my day around your arrangements to make it hassle-free so that you can get on with the celebrations!

I offer a choice of photographic styles: traditional, contemporary and reportage. You can choose a mixture with some traditional groups and some relaxed "as it happens" photography. The choice is yours.

The South West

The South West is a fantastic place to get married or visit for a holiday.

The South West is made up of seven counties, Cornwall, Devon, Somerset, Dorset, Wiltshire,Avon, and Gloucestershire.

North Devon has a really cool art scene going on. There are lots of artists and art galleries in the area.Why not check out the local art galleries if you make a visit.

I have tried to include some information about the locations of photographs as I would like to promote North Devon as a wonderful place to visit.

Places to visit and stay in North Devon.

Ilfracombe is a Victorian seaside resort in North Devon and, therefore, has many Victorian houses and Hotels.

In the older part of town (dating back to the 14th century ) there is a working harbour and moorings for visiting vessels. The historic harbour is the largest along the North Devon Coastline. The last sea going paddle steamer, The Waverly, often sails from Ilfracombe and takes visitors along the North Devon Coastline. The Balmoral also uses Ilfracombe harbour during its trips to Lundy and Bideford.

Ilfracombe is a perfect place for a family holiday. There is a large variety of holiday accommodation including hotels and self-catering options. Ilfracombe also has a dedicated holiday park. (Located near Ilfracombe college).

Ilfracombe is a good starting point to explore North Devon. It is close to beautiful beaches, the majestic landscape of Exmoor National park and ,for those who enjoy walking, the cliff path which winds its way from Cornwall, through Devon and on into Somerset.

Ilfracombe and the surrounding areas also offer opportunities in recreational sports and activities including walking,pony riding. water sports, running, go-carting , bowling, football etc.

Ilfracombe also has some good art galleries and art exhibitions which showcase art work from local artists.

Woolacombe bay has a most beautiful beach with golden sands that features in the list of the worlds top beaches. The beach is a mecca for surfers and water sports enthusiasts. There is good surf all year round and in the summer the beach plays host to holiday-makers and sun-worshipers. Woolacombe is a

top holiday destination.

Woolacombe also has some good art galleries and art exibitions which showcase creative art work from local artists.

In and around the town there are a number of hotels, apartments and cottages that are available on full -board and self -catering. There are many options and prices to match all budgets.

Barnstaple.

Barnstaple is said by some to be the oldest borough in England. Barnstaple has lots to offer. Barnstaple is a hub for business in North Devon and has a busy shopping area. Barnstaple was once a local port where sailors once left to fight against the Armada. Barnstaple history can be explored at the Museum of Barnstaple. Barstaple is home to the Queens Theatre. I am available to take wedding photographs in Barnstaple.

Bideford.

Bideford is a market town built on the banks of the River Torridge. In the 16th and 17th centuries, Bideford was the 3rd biggest port in England. At these times Bideford traded in all types of goods including tobacco and cotton. These days Bideford is a busy town with a good range of shops. Like Dartmouth, St Ives and Looe , Bideford is famous for its New Years Eve celebrations. Around 20 thousand people visit Bideford for New Years, many dressing in fancy dress. Bideford also has a long bridge whose origins date back to 1474. Like Barnstaple, Bideford also has a pannier market. The author Charles Kingsley had links with Bideford and described the town in his books.

Bideford is a great base for visiting Instow, Appledore and The Tarka Trail. Grant Stringer is available to take wedding photographs in Bideford.

Combe Martin.

Combe Martin is a village situated in a long valley leading down to the sea.Combe Martin has a lovely beach which is popular with locals and tourists.

Combe Martin is on the western edge of Exmoor National Park. Combe Martin is said to have the longest high road in any village - over 2 miles! Combe Martin has

a lovely church ( St Peters ) which is well worth a visit. Combe Martin is a short journey from Ilfracombe and the village of Berrynarbor. Grant Stringer is available to take wedding photographs in Combe Martin.

Braunton.

The village of Braunton is about 5 miles west of Barnstaple. Braunton has a high street with a good range of shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs. Braunton also is the home of the North Devon Athletics track. The local church in Braunton , St Brannocks church, was founded in the 6th centuary. Braunton also has a great nature reserve, the Braunton Burrows. Braunton has good accesss to The Tarka trail which joins up with the South West Coast Path. Braunton is on the main route to Croyde, Putsborough and Saunton, so it has a good selection of surf shops! Grant Stringer is available to take wedding photographs in Braunton.

Minehead

Minehead is a coastal town in the West of Somerset. Minehead has had a strong association with the sea and has been a port for many years. Minehead has a long history of trading with coal, cattle, wool, fish etc with Wales. Minehead is the home of West Somerset Steam Railway which has a 23 mile track that passes through Watchet and down to Bishops Lydeard. Minehead also has a Butlins holiday camp. Minehead has a number of churches: St Michaels, St Andrews, and Sacred Heart. Butlins also has its own chapel which is used during Easter when Butlins plays host to a Christian event - The UK Spring Harvest. Grant Stringer is available to take wedding photographs in Minehead.

Lynton and Lynmouth.

Lynton and Lynmouth are two villages on the Devon coast.

Lynton and Lynmouth are connected by a water powered cliff railway. Grant Stringer is available to take wedding photographs in Lynton and Lynmouth.
