I had a wonderful weekend – On Saturday I made the trip to a lovely Wedding at Lakeview Manor Dunkerswell Devon and on Sunday I had the pleasure of a pre wedding engagement shoot with Ben and Alice at Woolacombe Bay (details to follow!). Being a wedding photographer is honestly such a privilege and an honor – and I am so grateful to be able do what I love and earn a living at the same time!! To be part of such a special day sometimes blows my mind a little if I’m honest. It’s weddings like Katie’s and Terry’s that make it such a joy. Just take a look at the lovely beaming smile on Terry’s face, I think he could light up the world!. He was so happy to be marrying the love of his life – he was grinning from ear to ear all day! It was one of those days when I thanked the Gods for my SATNAV! The small roads around the venue had a series of extensive diversions so I had to place my faith in technology to find my way through – I usually arrive at a venue early to meet up with the bride and groom, so on this occasion is was lucky I had left so early so that the roadworks did not make me late! This was my first visit to Lakeview Manor – set in a beautiful countryside location the spacious Manor house and lovely grounds make an idyllic setting for a wedding. Katie and her bridesmaids had finished having their hair done and were in full flow of excitement as they prepared for the big day.
Katie and Terry have such a wonderful connection – they are so obviously deeply in love!. Their wedding day really captured the two of their personalities and their lovely relationship. There was a wonderful mix of laid back fun and some very emotional moments – With large families on both sides and with many friends at their wedding, there was plenty of hugging and laughter. From the relaxed morning preparations with Katy and her bridesmaids, to the pre wedding nerves with Terry and the guys, it was a roller coaster of emotion. The wonderfully touching ceremony, with some happy tears, and the happiness and laughter of the reception put the icing on the cake. I loved the simple elegance of the style they had put together for their day. Katy’s dress was beautiful and her bridesmaids looked stunning in their Bridesmaid dresses. The pretty flowers made perfect decorations. Small touches such as the hand written place names and comics and sweets for the children, made the day that little more personal. It was an amazing day and one I was most thrilled to be a part of.
